About the Author
Doris Ann studied astrology with Thomas Seers in July 1973. Two years later, he introduced her to numerology. Her interest in numerology bloomed. She continued her quest for knowledge by incorporating psychic holistic alternatives. She discovered J. Krishnamurti and other well-known philosopher's teachings. NUMBERS CAN TRANSFORM YOUR LIFE Have you ever questioned why you feel drawn to live your life in a certain manner? Do you often wonder why you feel close to some people and distant from others? Let the science of Numerology decipher the meaning behind your full-certified name and your date-of-birth numbers. By numbering your days, you too can unlock the door of your hidden self, tap into the mystery of prophecy and relish the unknown possibilities waiting for you in the future. Best yet, the theory behind numerology is simple to grasp. There are no difficult formulas or complicated terminologies to remember. All you have to do is add the numbers together until they collapse into a single digit.

Many numerologists believe that we reincarnate from lifetime to lifetime, and that each number resonates a particular reward or fulfillment according to individuals' karmic debt. For instance: The numbers 1 through 5 show that people are learning about their individual places on earth. The numbers 6 thorough 9 are at a higher frequency. They possess a compassionate vibration. The master numbers 11 and 22 are the archetypes of the numbers 1 through 9; they show others the esoteric dimensions to life. The numbers 13, 14, 16 and 19 are frequently called Karmic numbers. They show where a person has to honor his past debts. I am not dismissing other numerologists' beliefs. I consider the vibrations of the numbers 1 through 9 and the master numbers 11 and 22 to be different, yet essentially the same. Furthermore, I do not feel that the Life-Path number (talents, abilities, and adapting to outside influences) holds the most important placement in a numerical profile. I am convinced the Whole-Name number (often called the character number) should be in the forefront. I base my conclusion on the fact that all decisions are made through one's character and that is the only way one can uncover one's truth.

Ok, I glanced through this treasure in a Tommy Bahama store on El Paseo in Palm Desert, CA.
Had to have it! Always check to see if my fav store in the entire world carries it and YES! And as usual for much much less!

A good cookbook and an affectionate memoir

People expecting a conventional cookbook may be put off by how much of it is dedicated to the author's family history. Although the Caribbean is closer to the US, Jonathan Phang is much better known in the UK, where he grew up and lives. But as he explains, "Guyanese people are made up of the six races of the Caribbean: East Indian, Chinese, Mixed European (Creole, mostly British and Portuguese), African, North American, and indigenous Amerindian." Understanding that "between them, my parents' blood represented all of these six races" is crucial to understanding a recipe that combines soy sauce, worchestershire, ketchup, yellow mustard, dark rum, habaneros, and lime. And growing up in England as he did, where he encountered "bland, badly cooked food away from home," you appreciate his fierce attachment to the "aromatic and spicy" food his parents brought with them.

All this would only be of historical or sociological interest if the recipes themselves were disappointing, but I have yet to try anything from the book that is less than delicious. If you're after Caribbean food that's scorchingly hot, you won't find it here. For me, his recipes are a perfect balance between the hot chilies of the Caribbean, the richness of ingredients like coconut milk, the refreshing bite of lime juice and cilantro, and a blend of spices and seasonings from the cultures that came together in Guyana.

A book can not be responsible for humanity development imposibilities. If there are no cures for many disease, like psoriasis, there are though much more disease control therapies than in the past. One should remember that a few decades ago, syphilis, leprosy, and many others diseases were important mortality and morbity causes, and the development of knowledge and dermatology dramatically changed the natural history of theses diseases.

Many other skin diseases became curable and many others are responsible to newer therapies, with unquestionable quality of life improvement for many people with skin diseases all over the world.

Rook is a classic. It is the most important reference dermatology has.

If one compares different editions, will be a testemony of incredible clinical dermatology evolution since last century

Embracing the Exile

John Fortunato is both an experienced psychotherapist and a well-informed, deeply faithful Christian who has learned, through time and pain, the inviolable and unconditional love of the God who created him as a gay man and whose acceptance of him as such is total.
Blessedly free of technical, therapeutic jargon, Fortunato outlines his understanding of the process of psychotherapy as "grieving" and of the special need for gay men and lesbians to grieve the losses which started to accumulate even before the start of personal, individual memory. Movingly, he shares his own experiences as a gay man struggling to find a sense of spirituality in his life, and the many cul-de-sacs he encountered which left him angry, frustrated and feeling abandoned and damaged by Churches ( he was born Roman Catholic and is now, happily, a part of the Episcopal Church) where he sought healing and acceptance. Beautifully written and deeply felt, this is required reading for any gay person who has felt that there is no place for him/her at the table of the Lord. Fortunato has come to believe, as the title suggests, that it is only in "embracing" life in exile from the rest of the culture that we can find ourselves and the peace we seek. In doing this, we find not only the love of God, but companions for the journey, all of whom are also "In exile" and headed home to the heart of the love which created them and accepts them exactly as they are.
