About the Author
Erin Amerman has been involved in anatomy and physiology education for more than 15 years as an author and professor. She is presently teaching at Florida State College of Jacksonville. She received a B.S. in cellular and molecular biology from the University of West Florida and a Doctorate in Podiatric Medicine from Des Moines University. Dr. Amerman is the author of the best-selling Exploring Anatomy and Physiology in the Laboratory series with Morton Publishing Company, and of the textbook Human Anatomy and Physiology with Pearson Education (to be released in January 2015). She is deeply committed to helping her students succeed in the A&P course, and generating curiosity and excitement about the material and its application in their future careers. 

When she is not writing or in the classroom, Dr. Amerman enjoys photographing the local wildlife around her home in rural northern Florida, particularly snakes and other reptiles. You can often find her hiking around the prairie with a camera and snake hook in hand. She also enjoys spending time with her family and her menagerie of rescued animals, including cats, dogs, pet rats, snakes, tetras, and a turtle. She earned black belts in karate and kobudo in 2013, though she hasn't yet used her karate skills to motivate her students to study.

Very interesting book

I'm not a believer in witchcraft however reading this book and seeing how much detail is put into it by the author is actually pretty scary. I don't think I will actually try any of these methods however I will make sure I finish this book for personal knowledge, it is very interesting and some of the things it talks about can actually be explained with Science.

Grammar and punctuation is consistent throughout and very well organised, also the author has put a lot of work in this book which is why it gets 5 stars from me.

Did not learn anything new.. All the information on this book can be found on line.. You can read this in a day.. In a few hours to be specific just don't bother with it. It helped me know what Wicca believes where and that's about it. But like I said you can find it on line

About the Author

Michael Boyle is one of the foremost experts in the fields of strength and conditioning, functional training, and general fitness. He is known internationally for his pioneering work and is an in-demand speaker at strength and conditioning conferences and athletic training clinics around the world.

Because of his expertise in sport performance training, Boyle has coached elite athletes on teams such as the Boston Red Sox, Boston Bruins, New England Revolution, and Boston Breakers as well as the U.S. women’s Olympic teams in soccer and ice hockey. In 2012, Boyle joined the Boston Red Sox coaching staff as a strength and conditioning consultant for the team, which later won the World Series. His client list over the years reads like a Who’s Who of athletic success, including retired American football defensive end Marcellus Wiley, 2012 Olympic judo gold medalist Kayla Harrison, and Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge.

Boyle was the head strength and conditioning coach at Boston University from 1984 to 1997. From 1990 to 2012 he was the strength and conditioning coach for men’s ice hockey at BU.

Boyle provides performance-enhancement training for athletes of all levels through his Boston-based gym, Mike Boyle Strength and Conditioning, which has been named one of America's 10 Best Gyms by Men's Health magazine. Boyle’s range of experience includes training athletes from the middle school level to all-stars in most major professional sports.

Great book. Elevating the fitness industry.

Mike Boyle delivers! If you want to know what one of the brightest minds in the fitness industry is doing to get amazing results, then get this book. He doesn't hold anything back - you get the background info, the theory, the practical application, the programming and even access to exclusive videos on how to coach the exercises correctly. Pretty amazing deal for such a little bit of money.
I've been reading, watching and going to see Mike for over a decade. He is one of the few sources of legit info in our industry because he has been there, done that and is still doing it. He doesn't just train a few folks (or merely himself) and then spin a bunch of articles online to make himself famous. He is the real deal.
Also, I can't believe I'm the first to write a review! 15 years on Amazon and this is the first time:-).

Highly recommend

Tremendous edition! Boyle is THE authority on modern functional training for athletes of all ability levels. The second edition refines the first edition by including Boyle's years worth of additional training and testing of movements, principals, and progressions since the original Functional Training for Sports was published. That's what's so great about Boyle's publications: he seemingly holds nothing back. Rather than rely on theory, Boyle educates the reader on what programming principals and movements actually produce results and why. Highly recommend for coaches and athletes alike. You will not be disappointed, although you may find yourself rethinking your current programming.

If you are a personal trainer, strength coach, general fitness enthusiast looking for a solid "cook book" and plan look no further. I have been reading and following Coach Boyle for over eight years and have always enjoyed his keep it simple philosophy that includes testing his methods and changing them when it isn't working. It's a pleasure to read how he assesses his athletes and uses this simple philosophy.

If you are looking for sound ideas that are tested and can help you build your training philosophy this is the book for you. Author Barnett tells of a dream his renowned evangelist father, Tommy Barnett, experienced as he drove through the streets of Los Angeles more than thirty years ago: a vision to take the inner city for Christ. Supposedley hand-picked by God, then seconded by the elder Barnett, young Matthew leaves his comfy, suburban church home and heads for Los Angeles, seeking to flesh out his father's vision. Barnett shares the struggles and success stories from his position as pastor of the L.A. International Church that he and his father co-founded. With a 24-hour open-door policy, this five-year-old church now leads more than 200 ministries, feeding roughly 10,000 people weekly, distributing more than 1000 articles of clothing monthly, caring for the 100 addicts who live in the Discipleship Home, rescuing troubled teens and homeless young people off the streets and running a free medical clinic. Through individual personal testimonies, Barnett reveals the work that he feels God has accomplished in the lives of the locals. He also recounts stories of miraculous monetary provision to continue this work and equip the workers to serve the city's people. Passionate, Loving, and Inspiring

In, The Church That Never Sleeps, Matthew Barnett takes the reader on his journey of planting and growing the LA International Church. You sit with him in his lonely office as he contemplates ways to reinspire his small congregation. You walk past him on your way down the street the day he moved his desk in front of the church building in order to converse with those walking by. You get excited along with him as the church begins to grow and reach out to the surrounding community. You scratch your head with amazement as he considers purchasing a 400,000 square foot hospital building that has been vacant for 9 years. You participate with several of the 180 ministries of the church. Finally, you rejoice. You rejoice because of the tremendous work God has done and is continuing every day at the LA International Church...serving, loving, and pointing people to Jesus...an incredible journey!

A must for the soul winners

Pastor Matthew wrote a touching and eye opening book about the struggles of starting a church in the inner city. It was great reading and the humily of Pastor Matthew showed through on every page. The LA International Church and the Dream Center Story will expand your own dreams.
